Ellen O’Connell, White Plains resident and retired English teacher, will moderate a discussion of the novel Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler. “In 2025, with the world descending into madness and anarchy, one woman begins a fateful journey towards a better future.” (Amazon). Originally published in 1993 and reissued in 2019, this “acclaimed [and prescient] post-apocalyptic novel of hope and terror… pairs well with 1984 and The Handmaid’s Tale.” John Green —NYT. The book is available in the Library’s physical collection and in Libby.
