Sashiko Japanese Embroidery uses a simple running stitch to create bold and geometric patterns on textiles.
Sashiko Japanese Embroidery uses a simple running stitch to create bold and geometric patterns on
textiles. This needlework tradition repairs, strengthens, quilts, and embellishes garments and home
goods. Students will learn how to prepare thread, lay out a grid, draw patterns, and employ "small
stabs" to stitch designs that both decorate and repair garments onto their patch samplers. The
beautiful stitched squares can easily be made into a coaster, small bag, patch, or pocket.
All tools and materials included. Bring your good reading glasses.
