Wednesday, November 04
6:15pm - 7:15pm

A weekly meeting of the White Plains Youth Bureau's Step Up program.

Step Up is a program for Black and Latino young men ages 13-21 who live in White Plains and can benefit from guidance and help figuring out what they want to do in life and how to get there. The program focuses on character development, goal setting, building self- confidence and self-esteem. The program’s aim is to improve the young men’s social, behavioral, academic and occupational outcomes, when/if necessary. The young men go on several free trips throughout the school year and participate in group meetings once a week covering various topics. The program facilitator, Donald Thompson, has a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University and has extensive experience working with youth in school and community-based settings.

For more information call the Youth Bureau at (914) 422-1378 or email Donald Thompson at dthompson@whiteplainsny.gov.
