A four-day series of chemistry experiments hosted by STEM Alliance. For teens in grades 7-12; registration required. Participants must attend all days of the camp, and must confirm attendance a few days before the camp starts in order to keep their spot.
Students will explore the science behind chemical reactions, the properties of elements, and the structure of compounds through hands-on chemistry experiments. They’ll learn about density, volume and mass as they construct a mini lava lamp, and investigate the structure of DNA as they extract it from wheat germ. Along the way, they'll also learn about lab safety and how to handle chemicals properly and responsibly.
This program is made possible through the generous support of NewYork-Presbyterian.
