Learn how to prepare your garden for the winter season.
At the end of the summer growing season, it's time to get your vegetable garden and ornamentals ready for the winter ahead. In this workshop, you'll receive some valuable guidance and learn about tasks such as proper mulching, cover cropping, composting, fall pruning, tool cleaning, reviewing the season's successes and failures, and wildlife considerations. Good fall preparation is the best way to jumpstart your spring garden, while promoting a healthy garden ecosystem during the winter months.
This workshop is presented by Regina Blakeslee, a Master Gardener with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, as part of our fall gardening series. These presentations are funded by the Youth Climate Action Fund grant awarded to the Edge Advisory Board's Seed Library project, which is supported by the Bloomberg Action Fund, the City of White Plains, and the White Plains Library Foundation.
