Join White Plains Librarian Barbara Wenglin to explore compelling readings from the rich anthology, Music Stories (ed. Wesley Stace, Everyman’s Pocket Classics, 2024). These vibrant and varied works by diverse authors capture the universal – sometimes controversial -- world of music, paying tribute to one art form through another. We will also discuss related film selections at some sessions, to view before we meet.

Title means Child of Deaf Adults and 3 of the actors are deaf using American Sign Language in real life. High school daughter Ruby is a talented singer and the only hearing person in the family. Encouraged by her music teacher, she is torn by her desire to attend music conservatory and helping her parents as their lifelong interpreter. With stellar performances by Marlee Matlin, Emilia Jones, Daniel Durant, and Oscar winner Troy Kotsur.
