April 7 is National Beer Day, commemorating the day that prohibition was ended by the Cullen-Harrison Act in 1933. Get ready to celebrate with this presentation from the Beer Can Museum!
Museum Curator Kevin Logan will share a family-friendly presentation covering the challenges – and innovations – that led to the eventual canning of beer following Prohibition in 1933. An impressive assortment of cans from the museum, including some of the very first beer cans, will be shared, as well as novelty cans, folk art, TV and movie props, and more.
Kevin Logan is the Curator of the Beer Can Museum, located in East Taunton, Massachusetts. The museum is a unique collection of thousands of beer cans from more than 100 countries, and includes folk art, vintage cans from the early days of beer can production, classic beer advertising, and novelties. The museum has been featured in Travel & Leisure, Chronicle, radio programs and several travel books, including Massachusetts Curiosities (Globe Pequot Press) and Massachusetts Treasures (University of Massachusetts Press).
This program takes place on Zoom and registration is required. Click here to register.
The program is being presented in partnership with the Town of Pelham Public Library and several other Westchester Libraries.
