Ellen O'Connell, White Plains resident and retired English teacher, will moderate a discussion of the novel The Great Believers, by Rebecca Mikkai (2018).
A Stonewall Book Award winner and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize and National Book Award, the novel is set in Chicago 1985 and Paris thirty years later and is described by The New York Times as “A page-turner...an absorbing and emotionally riveting story about what it’s like to live during times of crisis," a story of friendship, tragedy, and redemption.
