Rev250: Revolutionary Women
A Program by the Daughters of the American Revolution
Saturday, June 13
2:00pm - 4:00pm
White Plains Public Library
AuditoriumDid you know that many local women made significant contributions to the Revolutionary cause?
Westchester County is rich in Revolutionary history. Although known as the “Neutral Ground,” many of the important military decisions, strategic planning, and major events took place on the streets we walk every day. You’ve all heard stories about General George Washington and local hero John Jay. These men’s efforts and great accomplishments are well documented and well known.
However, did you know that many local women also made significant contributions to the revolutionary cause? Are the names Ann Fisher Miller and Phebe Ward familiar to you? Let us gather to tell the stories of these brave local women and the significant impact they had in our fight for independence.
In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, please join us at the White Plains Library on Saturday, June 13th, 2026 at 2:00pm as we honor these brave women patriots! Learn about their lives and roles during the American Revolution. Listen as an historical interpreter takes us back to 1777 and shares the legend of Sybil Ludington’s ride. Join us in a fun-filled game of trivia (with prizes!)
This event is free and light refreshments will be served.
