Ellen O'Connell, resident of White Plains and retired English teacher, will moderate a discussion of the historical novel The Queens of Crime, by Marie Benedict (2025).

The premise of this highly praised work, set in 1930-31 Paris and London, and based on a true event, is that five famous female mystery writers, including Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie, form a secret society to solve a real murder, in order to prove they are equal to men in a male-dominated literary world. This book is available through our catalog in the Library’s physical collection and as both an ebook and audiobook in Libby.
