Hispanic Heritage Concert

with Concerts in Motion

Come celebrate the rich and vibrant history of Hispanic Heritage with this afternoon concert for all ages!

Join us for an afternoon of music with Rafael Rosa (guitar)

Rafael Rosa is an accomplished guitarist and composer who has performed at renowned New York City venues including the Blue Note, DROM, Dizzy’s Coca-Cola Club, and the Rainbow Room. He has performed as a solo artist and sideman with artists and groups including Tony Award-winning singer Luba Mason, Ben Rosenblum’s Nebula Project, and the Gianni Organ Trio.

His debut album, Portrait (2014), blended Puerto Rico’s Bomba and Plena rhythms with jazz and rock. His second album, Axiomatic: Music for the People, was released in 2022, the same year he became a Fellow of the John Guggenheim Memorial Foundation for Music Composition—only the second Puerto Rican to receive the honor in that category.

Rafael is currently faculty at LIU’s ROCNATION and has also taught at NYU, CUNY, and St. John’s University. He regularly performs in New York City and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
